6.26.18: "It Feels So Right to Be Here With You, Oohhooo!"

Image
Welp...I must be a difficult comp or something because once again I am getting transferred and I have another new comp! I adore all of my comps but it's hard to keep starting over every transfer! But what can ya do? I just have to trust that the Lord knows where I need to be better than I do! But, al final,  [in the end]  I am headed down to Valencia and I am super stoked about it...never been there before, but I have heard great things. ; ) Also, my comp will be an hermana  [sister missionary]  that was in the mtc with me, so that will a blast tambien  [also] ! One of the highlights of this week, once again, was the residencia of viejos  old folks home]  ...MY COMP AND I SANG HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL FOR THEM ALL JAJAJAJA ...BEST THING OF MY LIFEEEEE.  They wanted us to sing for them (!!!idk why!) and naturally we chose to treat them to an American classic. They were totally into it and were clapping along by the end (even though they understood 0%, ...

6.18.18: One AÑO

Um, what? I have been on a mission for one year? Are you sure? I cannot even handle all of the things that have happened these last 365 days...I have seen so many miracles and tender mercies and heart breaks, and everything in between! Overall, it has flown by, but at the same time I feel like I have learned 365 months' worth of things! Time on the mission is just a weird concept. I have been wearing the chapa  [missionary name tag]  for 1 whole year and I feel so blessed for the opportunity to represent my Savior Jesus Christ to all of the beautiful souls here in Spain!  This week we had our last zone conference with the mission president and his wife before they go home next month! Wow, they are just the kind of people that are on a whole different level than the rest of us normal people.  They are incredible! We sang our mission hymn for them (yes...this girl sang...missions really do change people, jajaja) and they were bawling the whole t...

6.11.18: Blonds...What Can Ya Do?

Image
The Lord once again has blessed us with many miracles this week! One of the highlights of this week was yesterday. We stopped a woman on the street who automatically said she wasn't interested in our message because of things she had read on the internet about the Mormons. We asked her for some specifics, and it turns out that what she read was completely false (go figure...) and we actually ended up sitting down with her right there on a bench and taught her the Restoration!  One of the things she read was that Mormons believe that people with blond hair and blue eyes are perfect and celestial, (pues...es verdad, jajaja   [well...it's true, hahaha] ) and everyone else is going to hell...jajaja!  I have heard a lot of ridiculous things about Mormons, but that was a first! But the Spirit was so powerful and she told us that she has been praying to God for years that He would lead her to the truth and we testified to her that her answer was finally here!...

6.4.18: I Hope You Dance

Image
Wow, life is so good! Every Wednesday, we go and volunteer in the local residencia de viejitos (retirement home mas o menos  [more or less] ). There are so many old people here, it is insane. Also, I am convinced that I want to die young.  Being old looks miserable! But anyway, they always have us help them with different little activities, and this week they were listening to music and they wanted us to sing for them, jajaja. That was a hard pass. But if you can't sing, then obviously you can at least dance, right?...Um actually no...but they made us dance anyway, jajaja.  There were like 50 old mujeres  [women]  and only like 3 or 4 little old hombres  [men] . Of course, all the women were too broken to even walk, so my comp and I were naturally the next in line to dance with the old men to random Spanish songs of amor  [love] . Probs not allowed as a missionary, but they are ancient so no pasa nada  [nothing happened] ...

5.28.18: God is Real

Wow  Wow Wow Wow, this week I witnessed one of the biggest miracles of my mission! I think I am still in shock! One of the people that I have grown to love the most here in Sabadell is named Gloria. She is a single mom of three daughters and has had such a hard life. She has had so many unfair trials and hardships and just wants more than anything to be a good mom for her daughters and give them everything that they need to reach their potential. She just moved here a few months ago and has had a difficult time finding work and has not even been able to find a school for her daughters to go to. On top of that, the only housing she can afford is a little room in a piso  [apartment]  that is shared with other families. She lives with her 2 youngest daughters and the oldest daughter has to live on her own because there is not enough room for all of them. She and her 2 youngest daughters were going to get baptized this coming Saturday, but on Thursday she sent us a mess...
