5.21.18: The Grind

Image
Wow! I just love being a missionary! Life in Sabadell is defs very different from SanSe, but all good things!  So many random things happen everyday, jajaja. Siempre una aventura!  [Always an adventure!]  A few days ago, a random old Spanish man voluntarily came up to us while we were sitting on a bench and proceeded to sing not uno, but dos canciones  [one, but two songs]  and then gave me his homemade wire ring, jajaja.  He also told us to make sure to marry someone who "drinks water and not alcohol" ....ok will do.  Also,  on  Saturday, we were running around like crazy people because we had so many citas  [appointments] ...we were starving and a member had given us a Tupperware of food, but we didn't have any utensils.  So we just sat down on the side of an apartment building and ate with our hands....  We got some great, quality looks from the vecinos  [neighbors]  walking by.  Then...

5.7.18: Holaaaa

Well once again I don't have very much time, but this week has been great! I am still just living the missionary dream and will never shut up about how much I love San Sebastian because this place just makes my heart happy! Every week there are a few different couples/fams of American tourists in the capilla  [at church]  and it is always super weird talking to them...they are always just "passing through" on their world tours! It is mostly weird because I can't talk about normal things in English anymore and also Sundays we aren't even supposed to speak English with our companions!  Today we went back to San Juan (the little island staircase hike thing) and it was SUNNY (which is not to be taken for granted because even though it is May, it is still cold and rainy here)! LIFE IS JUST SO BEAUTIFUL! I love you all and hope all is well! -maddy

4.30.18: God is REAL

Well, not much time today (what is new?). God is so good to us here in San Sebastián. I am reminded over and over that this work is in no way our own; God really is in every detail! (Wow, sorry...I am such a missionary! Whoops!)  Yesterday at church, a man who met with the hermanas about 4 years ago came to sacrament meeting and told us that once he quits smoking he wants to get baptized...um ok, Sure. We were amazed! Somehow we have no record of him in our area book or anything, but he says he has lived here for 9 years (He is originally from the Ukraine) and he has even met our mission president. I am sure that he has other difficulties to overcome, but we were shocked that he just showed up to church on his own. It really is true that if God does not lead us to them, He will lead them to us! All I can say is GOD IS REAL! The ward here is quite a unique mix of people from all different parts of the world, and almost every week we have random tourists too.  Also the bis...
