7.23.18: ☀️

Well, for some reason my group email last week didn't send...whoops, sorry! Don't worry though, I am still alive and living the dream over here in Valenci-yaaaa! Life is just BEAUTIFUL<3 The highlight of the week was the baptism of our two best friends, Valeria and Fernando (who were in my email last week that no one ever got...).  But, long story short, they are a brother and sister from Honduras who live with a less-active member and their mom who is not a  member (yet...!). They are precious! They were so excited for their baptism and were just glowing afterward. Yesterday, they were confirmed by the Area 70 who is in our ward and the Spirit was so strong. He gave them both beautiful blessings and I know that God has big plans for both of them in this life! Also, an older Spaniard man who was taught by the elders got baptized with them!  It is such a blessing to watch lives change as people come unto Jesus Christ and accept him as their Savior. The mos...

*This is the email that never got sent to the group--that Maddy refers to in her next email. I typed it up so we would have this great story of Fernando and Valeria and that "someone" who gave Fernando assurance that he should get baptized in answer to his prayer. :) _______________________ Life is just so much better in the summer--the food, the clothes, the air and people are just all around happier.  I am soaking up the Valencia heat, and I LOVE it, for reals.  Wow, this city is incredible!  It has a charm that I cannot even describe! Every time we get on the bus or the metro everyone is wearing their swimsuit because they are on their way to the beach or piscina  [pool] ...la vida buenaaaaaa!  [The good life!]  This week has been crazy. My companion and I went to Barcelona for two nights because we had a meeting.  And we got to see a bunch of our old mission pals, which was a blast. ;) I <3 Barcelona!  But the highlight of th...

Boom! Another beautiful week in Valenci-yaaaaaa! I just adore being a missionary (Can I say that enough times? Jajaja, I say that every week, but it's because it's true.)  So many beautiful sights and souls here and I just cannot get enough! This week we visited with an older African woman who got baptized a few years ago and she is classic! Everything she says is just pure gold! Next time we go I will try to get a vid for a full visual, but wow this woman is a gem! She was trying to ask me what I was going to do after the mission (she called it "my course of life").  And since I have literally no idea, I naturally asked her for some elderly wisdom...she paused for a good second and then received the inspiration that I "must go to university and study to become a professional."  Jajaja, wow! Thanks! I will do that! She then treated us to some Nigerian gospel rock songs and some lengthy instruction on how to pick a husband who is a "good man of God...

7.2.18: Valenci-YAAAAAA

Ok, wow I just adore Valencia!! It is so warm here...it's also humid and I feel like I am on an island or something! I finally sweat again after 6 months of wearing tights up in the north of Spain and I am so happy! The sun just gives me life and I am convinced that everyone is just in a better mood in the summer.  ;) This week has been an adventure getting to know the new area and all of the new ward members and investigators! In every area, I have met people from almost every country in the world.  Diversity is a BEAUTIFUL thing! The ward here in Valencia is especially diverse with everything from Latinos to Africans to Spaniards, and even a few token Americans to top it all off! I ADORE them all and am so stoked to be here! My life is just so GOOD! Also, we officially have a new mission pres!! Still haven't met him, but we have a conference with him on the  4th of  July, so we will see...! Tambien  [also],  our mission boundar...
