8.27.18: My Girl Jimena got BAPTIZED

Image
Wow, this entire week was a gift! The highlight of this week was the baptism and confirmation of my best friend JIMENA! WOW esa mujer  [that woman] ! She is truly one of the strongest and most faithful women I have ever met. She has had such a hard life and even just this week leading up to her baptism, life has thrown some crazy unexpected things at her. There have been times on my mission where I am brought to tears because of the heartaches of others.  It's like I can feel their pain, even though I have never been through anything remotely as bad. Sometimes I don't know what to say to help them and all I can do is cry with them. I have never really understood the scripture that says that we should "mourn with those who mourn" until coming on a mission. Wow, I just LOVE Jimena with all of my heart. Through this entire week never once did she doubt that she should follow through with her commitment to be baptized. The best part of the entire baptismal service is when...

I adore adore all of the other hermanas from my mtc group and it is always fun to see them.  It's like we have a special connection because we suffered in the mtc together and we end at the same time!  Wow, I stayed up way too late talking on Monday and  Tuesday  because I just love them so much and there is so much to catch up on!  Also, we got to stay in the mission home which is fun! I adore Hermana Galli  [mission president's wife] .   She is a fellow hippy and she shared all her expensive, healthy food, which you know is my love language. ;)   And the cook in the mission home was in my first area, so I got to see her, which was so sweet! Her sister and sister's husband got sealed in the temple this last week and it was so spec...

Sorry about the lack of writing last week, it was a crazy day! (But Maddi Nelson isn't...heart breaker). But anyway, my mtc comp Hermana Forsyth should be in Barce when I get there and I am psyched to see her!! Love you all<3 Pics- 1. I live in the ghetto  2. 8.7.2018: Another transfer...another comp...

Image
Well, the streak continues with changing companions every transfer....  My new companion is one of the missionaries that got switched to our mission from Malaga. This is her last transfer before she goes home, so this will be interesting! She is super cute and I'm stoked to be with her, but I am defs sad to say bye to Hermana Warburton!  Wow, the mission life is just such a crazy ride!  I ADORE it!  Also, I am still in love with Valencia and all of the beautiful souls here! I love you all and hope you are all living the DREAM <3 - maddy

7.30.18: Lice Life

Image
Well...we have lice...good times over here! Ya, so, long story short--on Friday, we had our first interviews with the new mission president.  And right before my comp went in for hers, I saw a bug in her hair, but tried to stay calm and not make a bug deal(jajaja, I meant big...but bug works better anyway).  But then when I came out of my interview, she pulled me into the bathroom and confirmed she had lice...like really bad...ahhhhhhhh!  We had to wash literally everything and I don't really have it, by some miracle!  But I did the whole treatment anyway, just in case. Wow, I have no words...bugs in your hair is literally the grossest thing!  God was so good not to send me to a third world country where I would have to deal with it on a regular basis! Blessed! Jajaja, ok it's not as bad as I am making it sound.  We will survive.   And on the bright side, our companionship unity is on a whole new level, jajaja!  Also, a me...
