7.30.18: Lice Life
Well...we have lice...good times over here! Ya, so, long story short--on Friday, we had our first interviews with the new mission president. And right before my comp went in for hers, I saw a bug in her hair, but tried to stay calm and not make a bug deal(jajaja, I meant big...but bug works better anyway). But then when I came out of my interview, she pulled me into the bathroom and confirmed she had lice...like really bad...ahhhhhhhh! We had to wash literally everything and I don't really have it, by some miracle! But I did the whole treatment anyway, just in case. Wow, I have no words...bugs in your hair is literally the grossest thing! God was so good not to send me to a third world country where I would have to deal with it on a regular basis! Blessed! Jajaja, ok it's not as bad as I am making it sound. We will survive. And on the bright side, our companionship unity is on a whole new level, jajaja! Also, a member came over to help us and she is a saint! She is going straight up! (I will attach a pic of her...she is the most adorable little Spaniard woman. And she has my heart now.) Also, we do intercambios [exchanges] with the other hermanas [sister missionaries] in the zone, so we had to call all of them and share the wonderful news and tell them to check their heads! Lo siento [I'm sorry]!
But other than that, this has been a great week full of many more miracles! God really does bless us with tender mercies every single day. One of the miracles that happened just Saturday night was truly a testimony to me that this is God's work and that His hand truly is in every detail. We were walking to passby the house of our investigator who is in the process of moving, so it's been hard to get in contact with him. We were kind of in a rush because it was late and we were still far away from our piso [apartment]. A man came up on his bike wearing a Utah Jazz jersey, so of course, we had to talk to him because my companion is from Utah. After talking to him for a few minutes he ended up not wanting anything, but as soon as he got back on his bike and rode away, a girl came out of the apartment building that we were standing under and called out to us. It turns out that she got baptized in her country two years ago and was very active, but she just moved here 5 months ago and has had a hard time with the change and fell away from the church. However, recently she has been praying and asking God for strength because she knows she needs to go back and she misses the Spirit in her life. She said that when she heard our painful American accents from her window, she knew it was an answer to her prayers! It was such an inexplicable series of events that could only be explained by being the hand of God that led us to her in order to answer her prayer. God truly does love each of us and answers our prayers in the most personal and miraculous ways!
I love you all! Stay GOLD<3
