7.13.17: Huevos
Well I have officially reached missionary status--yesterday at the gym we worked out while listening to hymns (because that is the only music we are allowed to listen to)... what has my life become?! Jajajajaja
This week while teaching our "investigator" my comp was explaining to him that God has a body of flesh and bones, but she said "Dios tiene un cuerpo de carne y juevos (eggs)" instead of huesos (bones). Hahahahaha- so I guess we were all created in the image of breakfast burritos??
Every week when we go to the park we have a different companion. I got paired with an adorable girl from the Czech Republic who speaks English, Spanish, and obviously Czech. She is the first Czech missionary to EVER GO TO SPAIN!! She was so excited to do missionary work that she was literally running up the stairs in the metro dragging me behind her!
This week we also had a heartbreak here at the ccm... there was a small group of native speaking Portuguese elders who left last week. One of them has cerebral palsy. He had been having problems with his back and fainted the day before they were scheduled to leave. Long story short, he spent a few days in the hospital, and ended up going home yesterday. He was one of those people who just radiates light. He seriously knows everything about the gospel. As soon as he opens his mouth, he brings the Spirit. He changed all of our lives here at the ccm. God sent him on a mission to help all of the other missionaries here to be better. It breaks my heart that he doesn't get to serve a full mission, but I guess God has a different plan for him. All of us here who knew him are serving our missions on behalf of Elder Mendes now. Some words of wisdom from Elder Mendes: CHRIST IS AT THE COMMAND AND WE SHOULD NOT FEAR!
