7.20.17: PAZ out Madrid & 7.24.17: Trippin'

HOLAAAAA,

Well I have 5 days left in the ccm/mtc before I am released into the real world again! I am so excited to go to BARCELONA and be a real missionary!! Although it will be sad to leave all my pals that are going to different missions.  :/

Also, I forgot how many scars I had until they all came back because I am sooo beyond white right now! AYUDAME!!  I think I am now a ghost because I have spent an entire month indoors...oh well....

We went to to the plaza one last time today, and also to the government office where they have gnarly guards with machine guns... but now I AM OFFICIALLY A RESIDENT OF SPAINNNNNN! At least for the next year...

This week we are not allowed to speak English at all. We made a rule in our "district" that every English word spoken in the classsroom = 2 pushups... let's just say I'm getting really strong, jajaja. Also my Spanish is improving too, although very SLOWLY!! I try to listen to people on the metro, but usually all I catch is "si" and "no"....

When I first got here, the mtc president challenged us to read the entire Book of Mormon from start to finish while we are here. I finished last week, and I started reading the Book of Mormon in Espanol-- I pretty much have to translate every word, but poco a poco!! It is good to read it slowly because I really have to pay attention to every word!

I am learning so much every day!  I love being a missionary and having this time to focus all my efforts on becoming more converted to Christ for myself so that I can help others become converted as well. I feel so blessed that God trusts me enough to let me take part in this eternal work! (Wow I sound like such a missionary...).

Ps- pro tip for the homies in SC -- if you see a shark, keep your feet up and stay in the water because you'll have the waves all to yourself!

7.24.17~Trippin
Im finally breaking out of the ccm! It has been a great time but I am definitely ready to SALIR. After all of the pointless seminars I've sat through today, GET ME OUT. We leave tomorrow at 5am on a bullet train to Barce! It takes 6 hrs in a car and only 2 on the train. I am so excited to get to Barcelona and start real life again! Although I am sad to leave all the beautiful souls I've met here. Also I am literally missing Maddi (Nelson) by like 10 hrs :/ oh well....

Another week full of beautiful places and people here in San Sebastian! Wow, we have seen so many miracles this week! I cannot believe how good God has been to us. Hermana Jenkins and I have been so blessed!  Our mission has had a slow start to the year with baptisms, so we are doing a month long fast where every district takes a turn fasting for 24 hours. This week it was our district's turn  on  Friday/Saturday. Literally 2 hours after we started fasting, we met with a woman who the elders contacted on the street over a month ago....  Finally meeting with her, in and of itself, was a miracle! However, while we were talking with her on a bench, one of her friends walked by and came up to us. She started talking to us like we had met before and Hermana Jenkins and I were both really confused. I kept looking at my comp hoping she knew who this woman was because I, for sure, didn't!  It turns out that we had contacted her in my first week here, but it was late...

6.4.18: I Hope You Dance

Wow, life is so good! Every Wednesday, we go and volunteer in the local residencia de viejitos (retirement home mas o menos  [more or less] ). There are so many old people here, it is insane. Also, I am convinced that I want to die young.  Being old looks miserable! But anyway, they always have us help them with different little activities, and this week they were listening to music and they wanted us to sing for them, jajaja. That was a hard pass. But if you can't sing, then obviously you can at least dance, right?...Um actually no...but they made us dance anyway, jajaja.  There were like 50 old mujeres  [women]  and only like 3 or 4 little old hombres  [men] . Of course, all the women were too broken to even walk, so my comp and I were naturally the next in line to dance with the old men to random Spanish songs of amor  [love] . Probs not allowed as a missionary, but they are ancient so no pasa nada  [nothing happened] ...

4.3.18: Living the suenooooo

Ok, I know I say this every week, but I am just living the dreammmmmm here in San Sebastian!! I don't know what I did to deserve all of these blessings; God is so good to me! I adore this place and all of the beautiful souls here!! Wow I just cannot believe how good my life is! Today, I will get a new comp...I have not had a comp for more than 1 transfer my entire mission...kind of crazy! She still has not arrived yet, but I'm excited to meet her and work with her in SanSe!  Well....the most important news of this week is that THERE IS A MAN IN OUR WARD WITH SIX FINGERS...SIX! I legit die every time I shake his hand (it's on his right hand). He is a classic!! Jajaja, my life is complete now...I swear this place can't get any better! Also this week, we went to FRANCE!! Um ya...so there is a fam in our ward that lives just across the border and we went to their house on Saturday! They also took us to the beach for a quick sec on the way to the train station...th...
