10.30.17: "Blessed assurance--Jesus is mine!"
Another stellar week here in Mart. We do so much everyday, but as soon as email time comes I cannot remember anything!
One of the highlights was dinner with the Africans. Sometimes we cook for them in the church and sing African gospel rock songs. My comp brought her guitar and one of the Africans started serenading us with a song called "Blessed assurance...Jesus is mineeeee." hahaha I LOVE AFRICANS! I don't member the rest of the song, but he assured us that he would give us lessons sometime, jajaja.
We also had a Halloween party in the church this week. Spain is very serious about their holidays and everyone came dressed up as a vampire. Idk what the deal is, but for some reason everyone here is under the impression that you have to dress up as a vampire-- it's the only option! So all of the little kids and babies came with crazy face paint and fangs... no time to mess around with princess costumes!
This week we had another noche de hogar (family home evening) in the mission home in Barce and we brought an investigator from Colombia named Freddy! He lives like 1.5 hrs away from Barce, so just the fact that he was willing to come was exciting. He loved it, and we are working to get him to accept a baptismal date!!
Today my comp and I met up with some other missionaries in Barce and went on a boat ride around the harbor. I adored being on the ocean!! I was trying to bribe people to accidentally push me in because I just wanted to swim so bad, hahaha. I LOVE THE OCEAN. <3 Everyone who is not on a mission needs to go to the ocean for meeeee!
I love you all and am so grateful for all of the thoughts and prayers.
STAY GOLD<3
