1.29.18: Bailandooooo

Wow wow wow! What a blessing it is to be here in Pamplona. I am so grateful to the Lord for blessing me with the opportunity to serve all of the beautiful people here. It is amazing the love you can feel for the people that you are called to serve! My heart is so full! We were blessed with many miracles this week, but one of the biggest was Manuela. We met Manuela a few weeks ago knocking doors. We had a second visit with her about two weeks ago and she did not seem very interested and was not even sure if she believed in God. We ended up leaving her with a folleto[pamphlet] because we had just given out our last Book of Mormon. This week we had another visit with her and she told us that she actually read the folleto and followed the instructions to pray at the end! I was shocked! Never before in my mission has someone actually read the whole folleto and prayed! She said that she had an unexplainable peace that came over her and the next day she couldn't stop thinking about what she had read. We did our best to explain to her that what she had felt was the Spirit of God. She still has a lot of doubts and problems, but I am so happy for her that she is taking small steps towards growing her faith and belief in God. She has been through a lot of heartache in her life and I want so badly to help her understand that she has a Savior that is longing to heal her and relieve the burdens she has been carrying for so long!

Also, this week was the birthday of our Latina friend who owns the produce tienda [market]. (She is the best and always gives us mangoes and avocados because she knows how much I love them.) She turned forty, and being the Latina that she is, planned to go out dancing with her amigas to celebrate. She invited us to come but  unfortunately they were going after 10pm so we couldn't go... dang it! Hahaha. She was distraught.  But she probs would have been offended at how bad we white people are at dancing, so probs for the better that we didn't go hahaha. Also, there is probably some sort of missionary rule that says "no going out dancing"....jajaja, mejor que no! Good mental image though-- two white Americans in pioneer clothes with some middle aged Latinas festijandonos [celebrating] in the local bar...Ojalá! [I wish]

Today we went back to the old abandoned castle from last week and explored a little more with the other hermanas that we live with. Haha, they cemented off the entrance to one of the castles and we ended up rigging a log up against the side of the wall and I made one of the other hermanas hoist me up there, so classic! (Don't worry Mom, I made it out alive without any major injuries...) Hahaha, probs also a missionary rule against scaling old abandoned castles, but ignorance is bliss, right?! When it says in the scriptures that missionaries are promised protecting angels, it is literal!  I LOVE SPAIN!

well , I love you all! I am so grateful for all of the thoughts and prayers <3
