2.26.18: SanSe has my heart (well, at least the part I didn't leave in Pamplona)

Ok, wow! San Sebastian is such a dreammmmm! I still cannot believe I live here! It is always a little weird adjusting to a new area after pouring your heart and soul into your old area. But all in all, I love it here and am excited to get to know all of the beautiful people here! We live right in the center of the town, right next to a big cathedral.  And I'm pretty sure our piso is older than the United States, jajaja.

I don't have a lot of time to write, but today for preparation day we went to a lookout over all of San Sebastian, and it was so gorgeous. We went with the elders here and their investigator from Brazil who happens to be a professional violinist AND a closet trapeze artist (What?! Ya I know....  The people I meet on the mission are the best, jajajajaja).

I have been reading the New Testament lately and have been learning so much about the teachings and life of the apostle Paul. The other day I read this verse in 2 Corinthians 4:17, and it really struck me -->

"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory."

I also love this quote from Elder Johnson of the 70 that explains it a little more...
"It is interesting that Paul uses the term ‘light affliction.’ This comes from a person who was beaten, stoned, shipwrecked, imprisoned, and who experienced many other trials. I doubt many of us would label our afflictions light. Yet in comparison to the blessings and growth we ultimately receive, both in this life and in eternity, our afflictions truly are light."

I love you all <3 STAY GOLD
