4.23.18: I Got Pooped On

Well, I got pooped on this week by a bird...just thought you all would enjoy knowing that little detail, jajaja. I'm pretty sure God has a good sense of humor...you can either laugh or cry when something like that happens to you...jajaja.  Life is just so beautiful!

Anyway...this week has been amazing weather and there have been lots of crazy tourists in the streets, but I'm getting pretty good at judging who is a local and who isn't (jajaja most of the time it's pretty obvious). Just still can't believe that I actually live here...this place is gorgeous!

In the middle of the city there is a little mountain thing with a giant Jesus statue on top of it, and the other night we hiked up to it with our investigator to watch the sunset <3.  The view from the top is gorgeous because you can see the whole city on one side and the ocean on the other! Also, the little church that is up there is called the "Iglesia de Mote" which I suppose is some saint, but our investigator told us that in her country (Honduras), "mote" means "marijuana," and we just happened to be there on 4/20 so....coincidence? I think not. Jajaja.

Now some words of wisdom from our man George Q. Cannon (I know it's a little long, but just READ IT.)
:
"The saints should always remember that God sees not as man sees; that He does not willingly afflict his children, and that if He requires them to endure present privation and trial, it is that they may escape greater tribulations which would otherwise inevitably overtake them. If He deprives them of any present blessing, it is that He may bestow upon them greater and more glorious ones by-and-by."

^^^ I adore this quote! People ask us all the time why God allows so much suffering and affliction, and a lot of times there isn't a logical explanation that we can give...we just have to TRUST that God knows what we need better than we do.

I ADORE you all! Keep living the STOKE <3

Love- maddy
