10.1.18: Stay Gold

Wow, God is so real! The miracle of this week is that yesterday our friends, Lawrence and Osi passed their baptism interview and will be baptized this Saturday!! They are from Nigeria and have been faithfully coming to church ever since we met them, but it has been super difficult to teach them because they never received formal schooling and don't know how to read at all. They also don't really understand my English very well because they mainly speak a dialect from their tribe in Nigeria. However, we have been working really hard to teach them very simply and help them understand the restoration, and more than anything, feel the spirit. It's been a good reminder to me of how simple the gospel really is! They have such sincere and pure desires to follow Christ and do what is right and I am so excited for them to be baptized!
Also, it made me realize how much we take for granted. We have no right to complain about going to school because it is a bigger blessing than we can even imagine!
Also, this week when we went to Barce I got to be with 4 of my former comps, which was the BESTTTT! I also got to see a lot of the other hermanas that were in the mtc with me, which is always a fiestaaaaa ;). God is so good to me!

Tambien [also], quote de oro [of gold] of the week... brought to you by Jeffery R. Holland...

"Considering the incomprehensible cost of the Crucifixion and Atonement, I promise you He is not going to turn His back on us now. When He says to the poor in spirit, “Come unto me,” He means He knows the way out and He knows the way up. He knows it because He has walked it. He knows the way because He is the way."

I ADORE YOU ALL. STAY GOLD!
